Christmas time is present time… but what should we give? We’re going to try and be a bit ecological and think of something useful that does not have a direct impact on our planet. What do you think of the idea? Statistics say that during the Christmas period we end up buying lots of presents that are often not used. A good solution is to choose something that is consumable (a hamper of country produce, for example) or buy products that have been made from recycled materials. In fact, if we have time, we might even dare to make them ourselves.

The first idea is some delightful coasters. We must have some objects at home that we no longer use such as CDs or DVDs. We can paint them different colours and even make drawings or edgings. Are we on the right track?

Now let’s think before chucking out the old light bulbs. We recently spoke about moving on to LED technology but of course, what do we do with the light bulbs we don’t want? Well, they can be painted white or decorated as if they were a snowman or even a penguin. It’s the sort of gift that can always be used as a decoration for our Christmas tree.

Finally, after the changeover from summer to winter clothes, we have the T-shirts that will not survive another summer and which have many possibilities for their reuse. One of them is to make a bag. First you have to cut the sleeves inside the stitching, so that the stitches do not remain on the body part. Then we have to cut the neck more open because it will be where the opening to the bag is. Then we give the parts where we have cut a good stretch.

The final step is to turn the T-shirt inside out and sew the part at the bottom which will become the base of the bag. If you don’t know how to sew and want something quick and simple, you can use a hairband on the bottom part to tie it all together. We hope you like our ideas.
