{"id":138,"date":"2015-04-30T08:07:19","date_gmt":"2015-04-30T08:07:19","guid":{"rendered":"\/\/www.bonninsanso.com\/discoverymenorca\/?p=138"},"modified":"2015-09-22T18:52:40","modified_gmt":"2015-09-22T18:52:40","slug":"talayotic-culture","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bonninsanso.com\/discoverymenorca\/talayotic-culture\/","title":{"rendered":"Talayotic Culture"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The objective of the local authorities is to reinforce the cultural attraction of Menorca through the declaration of the Talayotic Culture as <strong>World Heritatge material by UNESCO<\/strong>, an initiative agreed by the \u201cConsejo de Patrimonio Hist\u00f3rico\u201d in their meeting on the Island in March 2015.<\/p>\n<p>The Island, with an area of 700 square kilometers, has 1.574 archaeological sites, including 1.401 catalogued as \u201cSites of Cultural Interest\u201d. The monuments of Talayotic Menorca are of a great authenticity and have exceptional value for their constructive technique, grandeur and high level of preservation, although most of them are more than 4.000 years old.<\/p>\n<p>Among them, 25 have been selected that best represent Menorquin prehistory for their chronology, typology, functionality and their significance in the local area where they are to be found according to the criteria of the instigators of UNESCO\u2019s declaration. Among the selected monuments we can find \u201cNaveta des Tudons\u201d, \u201cTorretrencada\u201d, \u201cTorrellafuda\u201d, \u201cCala Morell\u201d, \u201cTorre d\u2019en Galm\u00e9s\u201d, \u201cTalat\u00ed de Dalt\u201d, \u201cTrebal\u00fager\u201d or \u201cTrepuc\u00f3\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/\/www.bonninsanso.com\/discoverymenorca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/IMG_03241.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-139 size-bd-normal\" src=\"\/\/www.bonninsanso.com\/discoverymenorca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/IMG_03241-660x330.jpg\" alt=\"Talayotic\" width=\"660\" height=\"330\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>To visit these sites or anyone of the others included in the list of monuments eligible to be recognized as World Heritage, is a good reason to leave the comfort of our hotel for a few hours and allow ourselves to be seduced by Menorca\u2019s historical and heritage rich patrimony.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The objective of the local authorities is to reinforce the cultural attraction of Menorca through the declaration of the Talayotic Culture as World Heritatge material by UNESCO, an initiative agreed by the \u201cConsejo de Patrimonio Hist\u00f3rico\u201d in their meeting on the Island in March 2015.
