The relationship with France began in the 18<sup>th<\/sup> century, with the founding of the district of <strong>Sant Luis<\/strong>, in honour of the king of <strong>France<\/strong>, Luis XV. On the 18 April 1756 twelve thousand French soldiers landed on the beach of Santandria, at the service of the Duke of Richelieu, carried in a powerful fleet of ships. During their brief domination between 1756 and 1763, they also had time to create a very famous sauce, the name of which ended up as mayonnaise, inspired by the name of Mah\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/\/www.bonninsanso.com\/discoverymenorca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/IMG_6903.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-479\" src=\"\/\/www.bonninsanso.com\/discoverymenorca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/IMG_6903-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"Le Figaro\" width=\"660\" height=\"495\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bonninsanso.com\/discoverymenorca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/IMG_6903-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.bonninsanso.com\/discoverymenorca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/IMG_6903-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.bonninsanso.com\/discoverymenorca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/IMG_6903-90x68.jpg 90w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 660px) 100vw, 660px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>During this summer, the air companies have decided to join <strong>Menorca<\/strong> and <strong>France<\/strong> together again with the opening of six new direct flights. Thus you can fly directly from the international airports of <strong>Charles de Gaulle<\/strong> and <strong>Orly<\/strong>, from <strong>Lille<\/strong>, <strong>Lyon<\/strong>, <strong>Metz<\/strong> and <strong>Toulouse<\/strong>, enabling the number of French passengers visiting this marvellous island to be multiplied.
