<\/p>\nToday, on our very own route along the Cam\u00ed de Cavalls, we are going to cover almost ten kilometres, from the beach of Els Alocs to that of Algaiarens. They are two beautiful spots, far from the typical tourist routes which range from beaches and major dune systems to heather and rockrose, passing through land typical of Menorcan agriculture. Don\u2019t forget your camera!<\/p>\n

The walk begins in the pebbly beach of Els Alocs<\/strong> and along a rather winding path alongside the sea, it reaches the beach of Pilar<\/strong>, another one of Menorca locals best-kept secrets, lapped by transparent waters that contrast with the reddish colour of its rocks.<\/p>\n The route then continues along the coast, crossing a low marine of rockrose until reaching the beach of reddish pebbles of Pla de Mar,<\/strong> where we, temporarily, bid farewell to the sea. Our steps will guide us inland<\/strong> to cross the abrupt Mala mountain, although the path still has steep gradients up and down. On this part of the route we go through a wood of heather, rockroses and areas of holm-oaks. Make sure you have plenty of time to delight in this lovely setting.<\/p>\n Luckily, the final section of the route is gentle. We enter the Valle de Algaiarens<\/strong>, passing between agricultural lands to end in the sandy area of Algaiarens. In an earlier entry in our blog, we explained a trip though this area called La Vall. Our tip is that you go to the white, sandy beaches of Es Tancats and Es Bot<\/strong>, very close to a permanent coastal lagoon, around which grows abundant plant life.<\/p>\n For those who feel this stage is a bit short, you can always climb to the top of Sa Bassa Verda<\/strong> as a final prize.<\/p>\n Distance: 9.7 km<\/p>\n Estimated time with stops at points of interest: 4.5 hours<\/p>\n Difficulty: medium<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Today, on our very own route along the Cam\u00ed de Cavalls, we are going to cover almost ten kilometres, from the beach of Els Alocs to that of Algaiarens.
