February is a month to return to activity because the days are longer and we must not be complacent since the second month of the year in Menorca usually presents us with the coldest temperatures and this means we must protect the allotment.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5343\" src=\"\/\/www.bonninsanso.com\/discoverymenorca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/plantar-patates.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bonninsanso.com\/discoverymenorca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/plantar-patates.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.bonninsanso.com\/discoverymenorca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/plantar-patates-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.bonninsanso.com\/discoverymenorca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/plantar-patates-400x267.jpg 400w, https:\/\/www.bonninsanso.com\/discoverymenorca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/plantar-patates-128x86.jpg 128w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Firstly we must prepare the soil for the next sowing, which means <strong>mixing the substratum and adding fertiliser<\/strong>.In terms of choosing seeds, we <strong>can start by sowing<\/strong> garlic, celery, courgette, beans, sunflower, turnip and potato. We can also start sowing tomatoes. Basil needs humidity and sun, is a good mosquito and plant parasite repellent, and can also be added to many dishes. In fact, our tip is to always have aromatic plants in the urban allotment because they attract pollinators and act as plague repellents.
