I train once a week in the Tennis and Padel Club S\u2019Algar and some weekends I play tournaments all over the Island.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_5541\" style=\"width: 970px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5541\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-5541 size-full\" src=\"\/\/www.bonninsanso.com\/discoverymenorca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Bobby-Padel-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"960\" height=\"720\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-5541\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">My Padel partner Samuel Perez, my trainer Frans Marti and I<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Each club on the Island has its own tournament but the most important is the MPT\u00a0 (The Menorcan Padel Tour) circuit which every three or four weeks is played at a different club: players earn points at each tournament and at the end of the year the player with the most points is the Winner!! This is a reward for being the most consistent player. There are five levels of Padel in Menorca. I have played and won in category 3 and 4 so I am now obliged to play this year in category 2 and will now come up against some very stiff competition. I\u2019ll let you know how I get on!! <strong>Padel is a relatively new game<\/strong>; the first organized tournaments were in the eighties.<\/p>\n<p>The name of the game comes from the English word \u201cPADDEL\u201d because of the shape of the racket used to play with, in the <strong>nineteenth century<\/strong> a type of tennis was played on <strong>board ship<\/strong> in a small enclosed area for the entertainment of the passengers. It\u2019s also known that during the <strong>first quarter of the twentieth century<\/strong> a game referred to as \u201cPADDLE TENNIS\u201d was played in <strong>New York<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Have I
