Oddly enough, a rainy day<\/strong> in Menorca may provide the perfect excuse to do a lot of things that you might not otherwise do<\/strong>. It is true that the landscapes of our island feel better in the sun but with an umbrella in your hand and a pair of waterproof boots on your feet, you can plan a day full of interesting activities.<\/p>\n

Here at Bonnin Sanso we have prepared eight options for you, to enjoy a rainy day in Menorca:<\/p>\n

-Visit one of the Menorcan farms<\/strong> where Mah\u00f3n cheese is made<\/strong>, and taste the most renowned international product of Menorcan gastronomy. Both free and guided tours are available. Some of the farms, such as Subaida or Sant Patrici, open practically all the year.<\/p>\n

-Visit the Museum of Menorca,<\/strong> located in the Convento de Sant Francesc de Mah\u00f3n, a baroque cloister built in the second half of the 16th century, to a square plan. The collection of more than 250,000 exhibits can fill the whole day.<\/p>\n

-Visit the Palace of Ca’n Oliver<\/strong>, a manor house from the late eighteenth century converted into a center of art and history offering more than 1,000 square meters of space. The exhibition calendar is constantly updated.<\/p>\n

-Take an excursion to the Artisan Center of Menorca in Es Mercadal<\/strong>. Here, a video shows you the traditional trades of Menorca and the shop offers you the possibility to buy very different products than typical holiday souvenirs.<\/p>\n

-Visit the distillery<\/strong> where the legendary Menorcan gin \u201cXoriguer\u201d<\/strong> is made. The team will explain the manual process of manufacture and the origin of the berries that give it its characteristic flavor. To finish, you can enjoy a gin tasting with a view of the port of Mah\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

-The Principal Theater of Mah\u00f3n<\/strong>, the oldest opera theatre in Spain, offers guidedtours to introduce youto one of the best examples of Italian architecture. It is worth checking the posters in case you are lucky enough to see some action on stage.<\/p>\n

-Visit the Cathedral of Ciutadella and the monumental collection<\/strong> of palaces such as the Olivar Palace, open to the public, especially in high season, to experience for yourself one of the homes of the Menorcan nobility.<\/p>\n
