25 years Biosphere Reserve"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>2018 and Menorca celebrates the 25<sup>th<\/sup>anniversary of its declaration before UNESCO as a Biosphere Reserve<\/strong>.\u00a0It is more than two decades since the 7<sup>th<\/sup>October 1993 when Menorca was rewarded for <strong>its perfect territorial balance between the coexistence of economic activities, the conservation of natural reserves and the preservation of heritage and landscape.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The sustainable development of Menorca was recognized as was the<strong> important diversity of Mediterranean habitats and protected natural areas<\/strong> on the island such as Parc de S\u2019Albufera d\u2019es Grau, Illa d\u2019en Colom, Cap de Favaritx plus the preservation of its coastline with large areas of beaches and virgin coves.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7477\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bonninsanso.com\/discoverymenorca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/reservabiosfera2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1417\" height=\"1063\" \/><\/p>\n<p>All of Menorca\u2019s municipalities were included in the declaration \u2013 well preserved villages in all the areas, the exceptional old towns of Mahon and Ciutadella and the rich prehistoric heritage of the Talaiots and Taules all forming part of a humanized territory with a very rich and traditional rural landscape.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Throughout the year lectures, exhibitions, activities and workshops have been planned<\/strong> to remind us that conservation and maintenance work still needs to be done.\u00a0 The important step towards greener energy, hydrological self-sufficiency and the reasonable use of water are some of many challenges.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7478\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bonninsanso.com\/discoverymenorca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/reservabiosfera.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1417\" height=\"1063\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Bonnin Sanso will continue<\/strong> their work in raising awareness of <strong>preserving our landscape and respecting our heritage<\/strong> so that future generations can continue to enjoy
