It\u2019s beautiful and long beach, is over 400 meters long, and is an ideal bathing area. The transparent, crystalline water acquires its turquoise color due to the white sand that it covers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">It is an<strong> ideal beach for families and children<\/strong>, as the access by car is easy, it has nearby parking and shallow waters near the sandy beach. It\u2019s natural U shape means that its extra protected, so normally there are no waves, unless a there is a strong south wind, in which case, we would recommend you visit a beach on the north of the island, for example Arenal d&#8217;en Castell.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-9425 size-full\" title=\"Children beach Menorca Cala Galdana\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bonninsanso.com\/discoverymenorca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/OKCaptura-de-pantalla-2020-08-31-a-las-9.37.25.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"3468\" height=\"1950\" \/><\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The surroundings of Cala Galdana<\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">An essential stop is the Cala Galdana \u201cmirador\u201d, from which you can enjoy the views of the whole bay and it is an ideal place for a beautiful panoramic photo. Because of the height you can see the natural shape of the beach and where the river meets the sea.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Cala Galdana also offers a wide variety of restaurants, supermarkets and small shops, so you\u2019ll be able to spend a wonderful day at the beach.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Hiking from Cala Galdana<\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Cala Galdana can be the starting point to walk to Cala Macarella or Cala Mitjana, following the Cam\u00ed de Cavalls (Menorca\u2019s Bridle Path). These are two beaches that you simply have to visit, which I would say is a low difficulty walk (I would strongly recommend suitable footwear), the path is well marked, with square little wooden markers, every few meters, you will be submerged in the<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>middle of nature, and suddenly you will be able to hear the sea, as you approach the first Cala.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">From Cala Galdana to Cala Macarella there is approximately 2km, so about a 35 minute walk<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">From Cala Galdana to Cala Mitjana there is approximately 1.5km<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>about a 20 minute walk<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-9424 size-full\" title=\"Beach Menorca Cala Galdana\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bonninsanso.com\/discoverymenorca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/OKCaptura-de-pantalla-2020-08-31-a-las-9.37.00.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"3230\" height=\"1741\" \/><\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">How to get to Cala Galdana<\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">You can&#8217;t miss it!, just follow the road signposts<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">By car, from Ciutadella, you would take the main road towards Ma\u00f3 and turn right at the roundabout it\u2019s signposted \u00abCala Galdana\u201d, and is just before reaching the village of Ferreries.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">From Ma\u00f3 we would take the main road towards Ciutadella and as soon as we\u2019ve come through the tunnel that bypasses the village of Ferrerias, we find ourselves at the roundabout where we would turn off towards Cala Galdana.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">If you don&#8217;t have a car, you can still enjoy Cala Galdana, as it\u2019s one of the beaches in Menorca that you can buy a bus ticket to.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">We do hope you enjoy it!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"s1\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-9423 size-full\" title=\"Beach Menorca Cala Galdana\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bonninsanso.com\/discoverymenorca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Captura-de-pantalla-2020-08-31-a-las-9.36.06.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"3063\" height=\"1797\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cala Galdana is an urbanisation just 8km from Ferreries, it\u2019s situated in the south\/center part of the island.
