Excursion to Cala Pilar, Menorca

Cala Pilar is an unspoilt beach in the north coast of Menorca with incredible views, located between Els Alocs and Punta des Carregador.  The golden sand, the red cliffs and turquoise waters merge to create a striking combination of strong colour contrasts.

To reach the bay of Cala Pilar you must walk about forty minutes from the parking area, between pines and oaks. An excursion that is well worth doing.  When you reach your destination, on the top of the cliffs that embrace the bay, you will contemplate the entire beach at your feet, a view that will leave you breathless.

How to reach the parking area?

Follow the Me-1 main road until you reach kilometre 34, between Ferreries and Ciutadella, then take the detour to Cami del Pilar, you will find a well marked parking area at the end on the lane where you can leave your car and carry on by foot.

The path is connected to the Cami de Cavalls, so once there, if you feel like walking a bit further, you can continue along Stage 7 of the Cami de Cavalls, to the East you will reach Els Alocs and to the West Cala Algariens.

However, we do recommend you equip yourself with water and food, since being an unspoilt beach, there are no nearby bars or restaurants.

Relax and enjoy nature at its purest! And don’t forget to tag @discoverymernorca in your pictures.
