Hidden bays in Menorca close to Son Parc

Today we would like to refer to two hidden bays situated very close to Son Parc.

Macar de Sa Llosa

Macar de Sa Llosa is a narrow strip of sand just below the cliff, difficult but not impossible to access by foot. The colour of the water that reaches the shore is the most incredible sight of this place, and the sandy seabed extends so far that it reflects the light in a most spectacular way.

How to get here

Follow the Me-7 road (Maó to Fornells) towards Son Parc and when you are at the first crossroads take the first exit. At the roundabout take the second exit, at the next two take the first one. Continue a few metres and turn left onto this road, which is not very busy. When you are on this road, turn right onto a track that leads to a rubbish tip. Just on the other side is the path down to the beach. Be careful, you have to watch out for landslides.

Another easier way to reach and enjoy the bay is by boat from Son Parc.

Platgeta des Gatassos

This is a small wild bay of fine sand barely 6 metres long, right next to es Macar de Sa Llosa. Another incredible place where you can enjoy turquoise, crystalline waters.

How to get there

If you would like to get there on foot, you should take the same path as the previous bay. Remember that it is important not to wear flip-flops or slippery sandals, so that you can walk down the cliff. Alternatively, you can reach the area by boat and anchor in the sand to enjoy paradise from the sea.

Evidently, neither of the two bays has any facilities. The nearest services are to be found in the urbanisation of Son Parc.
