Ten reasons to live in the Menorcan countryside

To be able to live in Menorca is always a luxury, but if in addition, there is the possibility that you can live in the countryside, it is like a piece of paradise. The quality of life that you can feel between nature and the animals, in contact with the sky, land and stars. Do you need any other reason?

  1. You can save: As there are no stores around you, it’s easier not to spend so much. Afternoon or weekend leisure is made up into field trips to collect mushrooms, asparagus or blackberries with which to make a tasty omelette or home made jams.

  1.  In fact, wherever you are in Menorca’s quiet countryside you will still be close to a village or town and in a few minutes, you can reach your children’s school, work or a supermarket.
  2. Your children will thank you; for children that play with electronic games all day, we would like to change that and give them more creative and enjoyable things to play with, like going out in the country to play and run around in the fields, to make mud pies, to collect free range chicken eggs, or making a camp in the woods.
  3. Your pets will appreciate it as well; they can run free outdoors and socialize with other animals. They must surely love the change to the country, even if they cannot tell you themselves.

  1. Who mentioned noise? You sleep much better at night in the middle of the country, where no noise, light pollution or annoying neighbours keep you awake.
  2. To be able to realize your dream of an ecological garden:  Living in the countryside there will be no excuse for you not to have a small piece of ground where you can plant your own lettuce, tomatoes or courgettes.
  3. It will also help you recover your sense of smell. The smell of freshly cut grass, wet soil, flowers and aromatic herbs………… these are scents which you lose in the city, lets say goodbye to the colour grey.

  1. Healthy outdoor walking. Leave the house and mix with nature, walk along the paths lined with olive or fruit trees. It’s the best way to stay in shape, as the doctors recommend that you walk on paths and not concrete. Now there is no excuse for you not to do your daily hours walk!
  2.  A never ending sight. The sun setting over the fields, the flowers in spring, the changing of the colours on the autumn trees, unexpected sightings of birds or other animals. An incredible show.
  3. Relaxed and peaceful; living in the country means living without pollution, without noise and without stress, where you can disconnect at your leisure and have all the time in the world to do what really matters to you.
