Recipe for all saints day “Buñuelos”

November is approaching and with it the tradition of “buñuelos” to celebrate All Saints’ Day. That is why today we would like to share with you an easy recipe for “buñuelos” to make with the family and eat together.

Ingredients

  • 350 grams of warm water
  • 25 grams fresh baker’s yeast
  • Wheat flour
  • A pinch of salt
  • Sugar, honey or chocolate for coating
  • Oil for frying

Preparation

First, dissolve the yeast in a little warm water and mix it with the rest of the water in a bowl.

Add the pinch of salt and start adding flour until you get a white, sticky dough. There is no exact amount of flour, just as much as is needed until it is absorbed to make this dough homogeneous.

Then cover the bowl of dough with a cloth and leave to rest for 40-60 minutes. After this time, prepare a frying pan with oil for frying.

Now it is time to shape the “buñuelos”. Therefore, you need a bowl with water to moist one hand and make the famous hole. With one hand, you take a portion of dough, with the other hand dampened with water you make the hole and let it fall into the hot oil.

When they are golden brown on one side, turn them over and fry them on the other side. Once they are removed from the heat, it is best to leave them on kitchen paper to absorb the remaining oil.

Finally, cover with sugar, honey or chocolate, whichever you like best. Bon appetit!
