Romero, italian style Gastro-Bar

Fabio Tullini and Francesca Baroni had never been to Menorca before, but the island cupid’s arrow struck so deep, they decided to immediately change their home town of Bologna for Mahón to start a new life. They arrived in early February, a typical day of northerly winds which delayed their boat from Barcelona for three days. But the strength of the wind became a boost in order to open their café in the very heart of the city in mid-March.

Romero

It is a gastro-bar to have breakfast with organic produce, an aperitif tasting local produce or some tapas of parmigiana made with cheese from Mahón. They chose a lovely premises that had been called Antiqua Bar & Shoes and they gave it the name of Romero, in homage to the Mediterranean rosemary bush with medicinal properties that accompany the majority of dishes of our cuisine and which is also an omen of good luck for whoever touches it.

Romero

An abundance of kindness and generous opening times allow you to have a croissant, an Aperol or even a few drinks with friends watching how the dusk gradually flows over the church of Carmen or the Femenías market. For Fabio and Francesca, the dream has become the driving force of their life, installed in Menorca from the first moment, with the desire to do more things but always enjoying the quality of life that we all share on this island.

On their arrival, they took the opportunity to visit the producers of fruit and vegetables with the aim of explaining their project to them. They also came to visit our branch of Bonnin Sansó to help them find the premises they were looking for and we were able to accompany them making their dream come true. Lots of luck friends!
